Round the year, WASH Institute conducts various formal and non-formal trainings and academic courses both on short and long-term basis. The initiative, apart from developing and offering campus based courses, has tie-ups with national and international agencies in the region to groom middle level professionals and students. The campus based formal courses are affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU), Madurai, Tamil Nadu and approved by Government of Tamil Nadu.

Post Graduate Diploma in Water Wastewater Quality Management Course
One year Post Graduate Diploma in Water and Wastewater Quality Management (PGD WWQM) course is intended to give comprehensive and intensive training that would enable the students to be engaged in gainful employment. Students completing the course shall contribute to the society by using their knowledge in the management of domestic and industrial wastewater. Students shall also add to the cutting-edge research that is being undertaken to enhance the efficiencies of existing processes or to create new technologies and systems.
One Year PG Diploma- Sanitary Inspector’s Course
Many opportunities in Government, private and NGOs sectors viz. government public health departments/ railways/ municipal corporations/ airports / town panchayat and industries. The qualified professionals can work as Health Inspectors, Sanitary Inspectors and Public Health Workers in the above mentioned departments.
One-year PG Diploma in Urban and Rural Sanitation
PG Diploma in Urban and Rural Sanitation Course is intended to give comprehensive and intensive training in the planning, implementation, evaluation, and management of sanitation projects. Their primary responsibilities lie in overseeing the operation and maintenance of sanitation systems, focusing on expertise in wastewater, fecal sludge, and solid waste management.
3 Months Certificate Course in Wastewater Treatment Plant Technician-Operation and Maintenance
Water Sanitation & Hygiene Institute (WASH Institute), supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) have come together to implement a capacity building certificate course program titled “Wastewater Treatment Plant Technician - Operations & Maintenance” for the local youth in wastewater management, across various states/cities in the country.
